Child injured after being hit by mini-bus at Gosford

A child has been injured after he was hit by a mini-bus while riding a bicycle on the state's central coast this afternoon.

About 4.20pm (Thursday 7 May 2020), emergency services attended the intersection of the Central Coast Highway and Riou Street, Gosford, following reports a boy riding a bike had been hit by a Toyota Coaster 12-seater bus.

The 12-year-old boy was treated at the scene before being transported to The Children's Hospital at Westmead by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter, where he remains in a stable condition.

The driver, a 59-year-old man, was taken to Gosford Hospital for mandatory testing.

A crime scene was established and the circumstances surrounding the incident are being investigated by Brisbane Water Police District.
