As 2025 draws to a close, we want to take this opportunity to extend our warmest wishes to the Central Goldfields community for a Happy Christmas and our best wishes for a safe and healthy 2026.
Christmas and the New Year are times for celebration, reflection, and connection. Whether you are enjoying the great outdoors, relaxing at home, or gathering with loved ones, we hope this season brings you peace, laughter and treasured moments.
Let us also remember those who may be facing challenges or spending the holidays away from family. A simple act of kindness - a friendly chat, an invitation to share a meal, or lending a helping hand - can brighten someone's day.
If you are ticking off your Christmas shopping list, consider supporting our local businesses where you can. And for those looking to give back, local charities are doing incredible work and would welcome your generosity.
It has been a big year with a great deal of change, but it has also been one of progress, celebration, and optimism. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all residents for the involvement and feedback throughout the year.
To all those working over the holidays - emergency services, healthcare teams, and our own teams - thank you for your dedication.
To allow our staff to take a break over the festive period, there will be some changes to services during this time. Our Customer Service Centre will close at 2pm on Wednesday 24 December and will reopen at 9am on Monday 5 January 2025. VicRoads will also close at 11.45am on Wednesday 24 December and reopen at 9am, Wednesday 7 January 2026.
The Christmas Day waste collection will be moved to Boxing Day. The New Years Day waste collection will be moved to Friday 2 January 2025.
