City of Darwin will host five Coffee Sessions at Roma Bar Café, Darwin CBD, giving the community a chance to talk informally with pet experts.
Each session will cover key topics including pet ownership, pet health, dog behaviour, animal welfare, and cats and wildlife.
The initiative supports the City of Darwin's efforts to promote responsible pet ownership and positive relationships between pets, people, and local wildlife.
Pet owners across Darwin are invited to grab a coffee and join a series of informal, expert-led conversations about pet ownership this April.
Each of the five sessions will spotlight a different topic, giving locals the chance to chat informally with City of Darwin Animal Education team and various guest experts.
Session topics include pet ownership essentials, pet health with a veterinarian, understanding dog behaviour, dog and cat welfare, and cats and wildlife.
Lord Mayor Peter Styles said these new sessions reflect City of Darwin's commitment to responsible pet ownership and a connected community.
"Programs like these help create a more informed community, where people feel confident in caring for their pets and understanding their responsibilities.
"It's also about protecting our unique local environment by educating pet owners, we can reduce impacts on native wildlife and promote safer neighbourhoods," he said.
"Bringing people together in a relaxed setting like this encourages meaningful conversations and ensures everyone has access to trusted advice from experts."
