Cohealth Secures Vital Funding Support

Australian Medical Association

The AMA has welcomed this week's announcement by the federal government that Cohealth in Melbourne will be given up to $1.5m in emergency funding.

This will enable Cohealth to continue operations through to 31 July 2026, while an independent review of its general practice service model, governance and finances is undertaken.

Cohealth is renown for providing services to vulnerable populations and, according to the government, this review is intended to deliver recommendations for a long term solution to maintain vital health services.

The AMA had been in discussions with Health Minister Mark Butler's office and senior officials in the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing about the critical importance of the services Cohealth provides.
