Colac Otway Shire Council in partnership with COPACC has secured a State Government grant to host workshops at COPACC during September school holidays as part of Victorian Youth Fest 2025.

Young performers, artists, and budding event managers aged 12 to 25 will participate in workshops for marketing, sound, lighting, music equipment, stage presence, ticketing, backstage and front-of-house processes.

During these workshops, they will plan and design the final music showcase, with support from Council's Youth Engagement Team, COPACC Staff and facilitators for later this year.

The music showcase will highlight the talents of Colac Otway youth and celebrate the achievements of young people.

Council's Community Services Manager Ashish Sitoula said the Youth Fest event would harness the enthusiasm and talents of Colac Otway's youth.

"This is a great opportunity for young people to develop their skills, expand social connections, build confidence, and be empowered to lead their own music performance," Ashish said.

"They will then be able to use these skills across the community at other events," he said.

"It's all about celebrating the wealth of talent in our young people and boosting their skills for the future.

"It will also bring young people from across the shire together, promoting social connections and contributing to the vibrancy of our local culture."

Youth Fest will include 110 events across the state in September, celebrating young Victorians with fun, creative and inclusive events designed and led by young people themselves.
