The Colloquium Fundamentale will discuss the benefits and drawbacks of the "moralizing finger pointing" in public debates in the summer semester of 2026. (FORUM)

During the summer semester of 2026, the Colloquium Fundamentale at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) will explore the opportunities and risks of moralization in public discourse. The lecture series will open on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at InformatiKOM on KIT's Campus South with a talk by computer linguist Dr. Maria Becker entitled "Can Moralizing Be Measured? AI-Supported Analyses of Public Debates."

The event is organized by KIT's General Studies. Forum Science and Society (FORUM). Admission is free.
