Columbus Dispatch: Ohio restaurants raise prices as costs rise

Rising costs of supplies and labor are among the factors pushing restaurants throughout Ohio and the rest of the United States to raise the prices of items on their menus, the Columbus Dispatch reported.

And while restaurants are being squeezed by the rising costs during the COVID-19 pandemic, demand for their food is increasing again, further adding to the strain, said David Brasington, a professor in the department of economics at the University of Cincinnati.

"Now people want to go out and they want restaurant food, so the demand is coming back," Brasington said.
