COMFIT issued in bid to ID man found dead at Surry Hills

Police have released a COMFIT image as they continue their attempts to identify a man whose body was found in Surry Hills earlier this year.

Officers from Surry Hills Police Area Command were called to Hunt Street just before midnight on Friday 17 April 2020, after a man's body was found.

Investigations so far revealed the man's death was not suspicious; however, detectives have been unable to identify him and, therefore, notify his next of kin.

Detectives are now renewing their appeal for public assistance as they continue their investigation.

The man is described as being of Asian or South American appearance, aged in his 20s or early 30s, 170cm tall, and with a slim build. The man had distinctive ears with no lobes.

At the time his body was found, the man was wearing a light-blue shirt, and black trousers but wasn't carrying any identification or a mobile phone.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is treated in strict confidence.
