Chief Executive Officer of the Commonwealth Bank, Matt Comyn, has today announced an update to the Bank's Executive Leadership Team to further strengthen the bank's commitment and focus on technology and operations.
Mr Comyn said: "Technology sits at the heart of our strategy to build tomorrow's bank today for our customers. It enables us to deliver global best digital experiences, to reimagine our products and services and to build on our simpler, better foundations to serve customers.
To reflect this increasing focus, our existing Enterprise Services division will be renamed Technology. Group Chief Information Officer Pascal Boillat will continue leading our work to expand our engineering workforce and streamline end-to-end delivery processes, accelerate the migration to cloud and simplify our technology estate.
Our operations activities have also expanded significantly over the last few years to support our market leading volume growth across the business and our increasing investment in our regulatory obligations. As a result, Sinead Taylor, currently Executive General Manager Bankwest, will join the CBA Executive Leadership Team and take on the role of Chief Operations Officer.
Mr Comyn said: "Sinead, with more than 18 years of commercial banking and executive experience at CBA and Bankwest, deeply understands the importance of consistently delivering for customers through operational excellence.
"She is an experienced banker and widely respected across the organisation. Throughout her time at CBA and Bankwest, Sinead has demonstrated high integrity, a strong focus on our people and customers and an excellent track record."
Subject to regulatory approvals, these changes will take effect from late-October. Ms Taylor will continue to lead Bankwest.
Sinead Taylor Bio
Sinead Taylor is an experienced and highly regarded banking executive, bringing a rich international perspective from more than two decades of commercial banking experience. She was appointed Executive General Manager of Bankwest in October 2019, having joined Bankwest in 2013 as the Executive General Manager Business Banking, before being appointed in 2017 to also lead Retail Banking as Executive General Manager Personal & Business Banking.
Prior to Bankwest, Sinead held a variety of Executive roles at Commonwealth Bank in Global Markets, Strategy, Marketing, Business and Corporate Banking. She has also managed strategy and marketing teams for a number of top tier professional service firms in the UK and Australia, as well as working in senior roles in publishing, radio production and broadcasting.
Sinead holds a Master of Business Administration from the Australian Graduate School of Management, is accredited with the Australian Financial Markets Association, and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing in the UK. She served as the Chair of the Bankwest Foundation and is a former Board member for WA Ballet. She is a member of CEW.
