Community answers the call during GOVChat, SA

Dozens of callers seized the chance to share their questions and feedback with South Australia Police (SAPOL) during last night’s GOVChat event, according to SA Police.

Experienced SAPOL members fielded 74 calls on the theme, ‘How can we work together to keep our community safe?’ alongside Minister for Police Peter Malinauskas (MLC) and Commissioner Grant Stevens.

Topics discussed during the phone-in event included SAPOL services, neighbourhood safety and crime prevention.

"Events like GOVChat support our vision to provide a responsive, accountable service for all South Australians, helping SAPOL identify opportunities for innovation and collaboration with our community," says Commissioner Stevens.

"I’d like to sincerely thank those members of the public who called in for your enthusiastic participation."

"We do benefit greatly from your ideas and your insight, which help to inform our decision making and improve our service delivery."

Road safety was of particular concern to many callers and followers on Facebook. Members of the public are reminded to report dangerous driving behaviour to Traffic Watch on 131 444.
