Community Facilities Survey Now Open

How do you use facilities within the Toowoomba Region?

To help us gain better understanding of what the community would like to see, Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) is seeking feedback on Council community facilities.

TRC Environment and Community Committee Chair Cr James O'Shea said Council was interested in hearing from the community to ensure it provided the level of service the community expected.

"We provide a wide selection of services throughout the Toowoomba Region and we want to make sure these facilities are operating at the right level for our community," he said.

"The types of buildings we want to hear about ranges from community halls to cultural centres, indoor sport centres, libraries, art galleries, those leased to community groups and buildings at showgrounds.

"The community's feedback will help us understand how, when and where you use these facilities, and what could potentially be improved.

"This information will assist Council to undertake measures to improve utilisation that reflects community demand.

"To ensure the outcomes are well-supported by the community, there will be additional opportunities to provide feedback when the draft report is ready for community consultation.

"Separate surveys will also be sent directly to lessees, user groups and school principals."

While the project covers the vast majority of the areas across the Toowoomba Region, Toowoomba City has not been included due to its large number of existing facilities. Crows Nest will not be a part of the survey either as Council undertook consultation in this area in an earlier study. The results from that survey will be included in the report from this current survey.

The community facilities survey is now open and will close to residents on Friday 18 June at 5pm. To complete the survey, visit: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/TRC_Community_Survey
