Community Reception Centre Closed For Public Holidays

The Coogee Community Reception Centre set up following the Bondi terror attack will be closed for the public holidays.

Following community consultation, the centre will be closed from 5pm today (Wednesday 24 December 2025).

The centre will remain closed on Christmas Day (Thursday 25 December 2025) and Boxing Day (Friday 26 December 2025).

During the closure, witnesses or family can contact the Public Information Inquiry Centre (PIIC) on 1800 227 228 for any urgent inquiries.

The centre will reopen from Saturday 27 December 2025 until Wednesday 31 December 2025 between 8am and 5pm.

The centre will be closed again on Thursday 1 January 2025.

The reception centre, located at the InterContinental Sydney Coogee Beach, 242 Arden Street, Coogee NSW 2034, has been designated as a location for family and witnesses to speak to investigators and support services during the investigations.

Representatives from Disaster Welfare, Red Cross, Chaplains, Transport, NSW Health Mental Health and Jewish counsellors will be available to assist the public.

Traffic cones have been put in place in lanes around the building to provide designated parking for those people who are attending the centre to provide information and/or seek assistance.

Anyone seeking general information can contact the Public Information and Inquiry Centre for general mental health or victim support services.

Transport for NSW advises anyone with difficulty in attending the centre to contact their representative via the Public Information and Inquiry Centre.

The NSW Reconstruction Authority is coordinating support for affected community members at the support hub and offers a range of practical advice and support, including mental health and wellbeing services for everyone in the impacted community.?

The Waverley College Property return point is now closed with all remaining property taken to the Sydney Police Centre. Members of the public can contact the Public Information Inquiry Centre to coordinate the collection of items.
