Completion of essential upgrades at Milton Showground

Improvements to the internal road network of Milton Showground are now complete.

This project was made possible through a collaborative effort involving an Australian grant from the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure program and a co-contribution from Council.

It represents a critical milestone in enhancing accessibility and safety within this popular community space.

"Throughout the project's duration, Council staff closely collaborated with various user groups, including the Milton Showground Management Committee and the Milton Show Society," said Mayor Amanda Findley.

"The primary aim was to ensure seamless access and the ongoing success of the annual Milton Show, a cherished tradition in our community," Cr Findley said.

Key elements of the project upgrades include:

  • Upgrade and formalisation of car park adjacent to the basketball courts including accessible spaces.
  • Resurfacing of existing road.
  • Installation of table drains and connection into existing stormwater system.
  • Provision of one accessible car park and connection to existing footpath with access to the accessible amenities building.
  • Provision of pullover bays for the future amenities and dump point.
  • Camping fire services upgrades.

These improvements will undoubtedly enhance the experience of both regular visitors and those attending the annual Milton Show.
