More than 180 hectares of bushland will undergo environmental restoration as part of an $800,000 project to protect and enhance critical koala and platypus habitat across Campbelltown.
Funded by the Australian Government and delivered by Campbelltown City Council, the Saving Koalas and Platypus in South West Sydney - Georges and Nepean River Corridors project includes native planting, weed control and targeted restoration works across key bushland reserves, including Smiths Creek Reserve, Cook Reserve, Simmos Beach Reserve and the Nepean River at Menangle.
The restoration works will improve habitat connectivity, enhance biodiversity and strengthen the health of the Georges and Nepean River corridors.
