Construction Commences on Daly River Boat Ramp

NT Government

Upgrades to the Daly River Boat Ramp are scheduled to commence today and include the construction of a new car park and ablution facility.

The $4.35 million tender awarded to local company Coleman's Contracting and Earthmoving was announced earlier this year, with the upgrades set to provide a safe parking space for boat ramp users and minimise waste and dust in the area.

Supported by local Traditional Owners, this project is jointly funded under the Northern Territory Government's $50 million RecFishing Futures Program and the Australian Government's Recreational Fishing and Camping Facilities Program, and supports the NT Government's commitment to improving recreational fishing infrastructure in the Territory.

Works are expected to be complete in late 2022 (weather dependent).

To minimise disruptions, works will occur in stages in order to postpone and minimise the boat ramp closure until late in the dry season.

Boat ramp users will be directed to Banyan Farm boat ramp during any closure periods of the main public ramp.
