- EMCO Building awarded contract to deliver new Mullewa Community Hospital
- New facility to provide modern 24/7 emergency care, outpatient support and essential health services to Mid West community
The Cook Government has awarded the contract to deliver the Mullewa Community Hospital redevelopment to WA owned and operated EMCO Building.
The $19.6 million redevelopment will now progress to the main works stage.
The new hospital will offer modern, purpose-built facilities to support a wide range of health services including 24/7 emergency care, respite and palliation, outpatient treatment and community health programs.
Treatment spaces will also be equipped with the very latest in virtual healthcare technology, providing greater patient access to specialist care close to home.
Following the finalisation of the contract award process, main works are expected to start later this year.
As stated by Health Infrastructure Minister John Carey:
"The Mullewa Community Hospital redevelopment will be transformative for local healthcare, meeting the needs of community now and into the future.
"The awarding of this contract allows us to get on with the job of delivering emergency and outpatient support, and access to a range of health services and providers, all under one roof."
As stated by Health Minister Meredith Hammat:
"This investment ensures that Mullewa residents have access to quality healthcare services in a modern fit-for-purpose facility.
"The redevelopment will provide essential upgrades, supporting emergency care and specialised services including a dedicated dialysis space - all within the community."
As stated by Mid West Minister Jackie Jarvis:
"This is a significant step for the Mullewa Community Hospital redevelopment that I know will be welcomed by the local community.
"It demonstrates the Cook Labor Government's commitment to delivering this important facility for the region and ensuring regional residents have access to quality health care closer to home."
