Cool Off For Free At Talbot And Dunolly This Summer

With summer fast approaching, the Dunolly and Talbot outdoor swimming pools are set to open their gates for the 2025–26 season, offering free entry for all visitors.

Both pools will operate from Saturday 6 December 2025 through to Monday 9 March 2026, giving residents and visitors plenty of opportunities to cool off over the warmer months.

During the season, opening hours will be as follows:

  • School days: 3:30pm – 7:00pm
  • Weekends and public holidays: 1:00pm – 7:00pm

To ensure safe and enjoyable swimming conditions, the pools will open only when the daily temperature reaches 25°C or higher.

The Maryborough Sports and Leisure Centre will also extend its opening hours and remain open until 7pm on weekends and public holidays. Weekday opening hours will remain as normal.

Plus, the Maryborough Sports and Leisure Centre will also offer reduced fees for casual entry during the outdoor pool season. Season passes will remain as normal.

Central Goldfields Shire Mayor Cr Ben Green encouraged community members to make the most of free entry at the Talbot and Dunolly outdoor pools, as well as the extended opening hours at the Maryborough Sports and Leisure Centre this summer.

"Our pools are fantastic assets for the community. They provide a perfect social hub for our children, parents, families and friends.

"These are fantastic places to relax, catch up with friends and cool off on long summer days. Both outdoor pools include special toddler areas, shading, and are well looked after by our Operations team.

"Being around water and swimming pools also helps children and adults build confidence and water safety skills, which are so important for preventing accidents and enjoying water safely.

"I encourage everyone to take advantage of these great facilities throughout the summer season."
