Cooloongup Firearm Incident Charges, WA

Major Fraud Squad detectives have charged three more people in relation to an incident in Cooloongup on Wednesday 15 February 2017 in which it is alleged a man was held against his will and assaulted.

About 5:50pm four people attended a residence in Toora Place and confronted the male resident. The male resident attempted to run from the residence, and it will be alleged a number of shots were fired, before the man was forced into the boot of a vehicle. The man was assaulted and received injuries to his head and body, WA Police say.

As part of the ongoing investigation Major Fraud Squad and Gang Crime Squad detectives executed a search warrant at a residence in Kingscliffe Drive, Golden Bay on Wednesday 15 March 2017. Two 24 year old men from Golden Bay were arrested and a firearm was seized.

One of the men was charged with Detained Another with Intent to Gain a Benefit, Assault Occasioning Bodily Harm, and Going Armed in Public to Cause Fear. The second man was charged with Detained Another with Intent to Gain a Benefit, and Assault Occasioning Bodily Harm.

Both men were refused bail and appeared in the Rockingham Magistrates Court yesterday, Thursday 16 March 2017. They are both next due to appear in the same court on Friday 24 March 2017.

Yesterday, Thursday 16 March 2017, Major Fraud Squad detectives arrested a 21 year old Dalyellup woman in Bunbury. The woman has been charged with Detained Another with Intent to Gain a Benefit, and Assault Occasioning Bodily Harm. She was refused bail and is due to appear in the Bunbury Magistrates Court today, Friday 17 March 2017.

A 38 year old man who was charged in February in relation to this matter is next due to appear in the Rockingham Magistrates Court today, Friday 17 March 2017.
