Victoria was notified of 445 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. All were locally acquired.
There are 3,799 active cases in Victoria - 3,796 locally acquired and three overseas-acquired cases.
There are 158 COVID-19 cases in hospital in Victoria. 45 of those cases are in intensive care, with 23 cases on a ventilator.
The total number of confirmed cases in Victoria since the beginning of the pandemic is 26,029.
Sadly, the Department was notified of two deaths yesterday:
- One was a Craigieburn man aged in his 20s, who passed away at home and was diagnosed with COVID-19 post-mortem.
- One was a St Albans woman aged in her 80s, who passed away in hospital.
This brings the total number of deaths from the current outbreak to six and the total number of deaths in Victoria since the pandemic began to 826.
Vaccines
Yesterday, 36,615 vaccine doses were administered by Victoria's state-commissioned services.
The total number of doses administered through state-run services is 2,901,226.
There are currently around 1,000 first-dose Pfizer appointments and 14,300 AstraZeneca appointments available this week.
Under current public-health directions, getting vaccinated is not a reason to travel from metropolitan Melbourne or Greater Shepparton to a non-restricted regional area and vice versa.
All children aged 12 and over are now eligible to receive the Pfizer vaccine at state vaccination centres, GP clinics and community health services. We encourage families to get vaccinated together by calling the Coronavirus Hotline on 1800 675 398 and making a group booking.
A parent or guardian will need to provide informed consent for their child by attending the appointment with them or providing them with a signed consent form. Children may also be deemed mature enough to provide informed consent if attending their appointment alone.
Outbreaks
Of the 445 local cases diagnosed yesterday, 129 were linked to current cases as of this morning. More cases are expected to be linked to current cases and outbreaks as investigations continue.

- 4 cases in Glen Eira
- 5 cases in Greater Dandenong
- 15 cases in Hobsons Bay

- 2 cases in Kingston
- 2 cases in Knox
- 2 cases in Manningham
- 2 cases in Maroondah
- 17 cases in Melbourne
- 16 cases in Melton
- 12 cases in Moonee Valley
- 62 cases in Moreland
- 5 cases in Port Phillip
- 36 cases in Whittlesea
- 38 cases in Wyndham
- 7 cases in Yarra
- 2 cases in Yarra Ranges.

Around 65 per cent of cases identified in Victoria yesterday are in Melbourne's northern suburbs.
Of Victoria's active cases:
- 563 are aged between 0 and 9
- 647 are aged between 10 and 19
- 906 are aged between 20 and 29
- 683 are aged between 30 and 39.
Around 85 per cent of all active cases in Victoria are people under 50 years of age.
Of the 157 people in hospital yesterday, 91 per cent are not vaccinated. Only one person is fully vaccinated.
There are currently more than 18,500 active primary close contacts in isolation in Victoria.
At midday today, there were more than 1000 published exposure sites in Victoria.

There may be occasions when the Department is unable to make contact with a business or residential premises before their listing as an exposure site. At all times, we take the decision of when to publish these sites in the interests of public health.
The Department regularly manages exposure sites that it doesn't publish online, particularly if these sites represent lower-risk exposure, or if they have comprehensive record-keeping and contact-tracing measures, or if they identify small, private locations - including smaller apartment or townhouse complexes.
