Parkes Shire Council is proud to support two of the region's longest-standing community arts groups, the Parkes Painters and Parkes Potters, by hosting their collaborative exhibition, Earthbound and Beyond.
The exhibition brings together more than 120 paintings and ceramic works created by over 35 local artists, celebrating the creativity, talent and passion that thrives within the Parkes Shire. Exploring themes of nature, place, imagination and connection, the exhibition showcases a diverse collection of traditional and contemporary artworks.
By providing the Coventry Room Gallery as a dedicated exhibition space, Parkes Shire Council continues to support local artists and community groups by creating opportunities to share their work with the wider community.
The exhibition will run for four weeks, giving residents and visitors the chance to experience the outstanding artistic talent on display.
Parkes Shire Mayor Cr Neil Westcott will officially open the exhibition on Friday 7 August at 6pm and is encouraging the community to come along and celebrate the achievements of local artists.
"Earthbound and Beyond is a fantastic example of the creativity that exists within our community," the Mayor said.
"Council is proud to support the Parkes Painters and Parkes Potters by providing a platform for them to exhibit their work and connect with the community.
"This exhibition not only showcases the remarkable talent of our local artists but also highlights the important role arts and culture play in bringing people together and enriching life across the Parkes Shire."
Parkes Shire Council's Cultural, Education and Library Services Manager, Kerryn Jones, said the collaboration between the two groups has created an exhibition that offers something for everyone.
"Coming together the Parkes Painters and Parkes Potters have created an exciting exhibition that offers something for everyone. From richly detailed paintings to beautifully crafted ceramics, visitors will be inspired by the creativity and dedication of these local artists," Ms Jones said.
"We encourage everyone to come along to the opening night, meet the artists and celebrate the wonderful arts community we have here in the Parkes Shire."
