How do you use your local library? This is the question Federation Council is asking residents as it launches a month long Library Service Review.
As digital trends and community needs shift, Council is taking a proactive approach to ensure that library branches across the Federation area remain high quality, cost effective, and aligned with modern literacy trends.
Federation Council Mayor, Cr Cheryl Cook, said the review is a vital step in future proofing community assets.
"Our libraries are much more than just shelves of books; they are essential hubs for connection, technology, and lifelong learning," Mayor Cook said. "However, the way people access information is changing rapidly. We want to ensure that our service model reflects the needs of our residents today and for the next decade."
The review will evaluate existing operations and explore potential new programs, digital resources, and ways to maximise participation across all demographics.
"Whether you are a daily visitor to our branches in Corowa, Howlong or Mulwala or haven't stepped inside a library in years, we want to hear from you," Mayor Cook added. "Your feedback will provide the data we need to develop a strategy that ensures our libraries are vibrant, accessible, and sustainable for all residents."
