The City of Ryde is closely monitoring the current fuel situation, including rising prices and global supply conditions.
At this stage, fuel remains available and all Council services are operating as normal.
City of Ryde Mayor Trenton Brown (pictured above, with staff, at Council's Operations Centre) said Council was undertaking proactive planning to ensure that the delivery of essential services to the community will continue should conditions change.
"Our priority is to maintain key services such as waste collection, community services and facilities, and local infrastructure," he said. "We are also working closely with our service providers to understand any potential impacts.
"We will continue to monitor the situation and will provide updates to the community if there are any changes to Council services."
Council is also monitoring advice and updates from State and Commonwealth agencies, including information on fuel supply, market conditions, and any potential response measures.
This is helping to inform local planning and ensure our approach is aligned with broader government settings.
Australia is currently at Level 2 in its National Fuel Security Plan which is geared towards taking precautionary actions to shore up fuel supply.
The advice is to only buy the fuel you need, and to make voluntary choices to use less and avoid the impact of higher fuel prices.
