Hills residents are invited to breathe new life into broken and well-loved items for free at The Hills Shire Council's first-ever Repair Fair on Saturday 20 June, 2026 at Castle Hill Showground.
The Repair Fair will include limited repair sessions for a range of household items, including small appliances and furniture, jewellery, clothing, and more. Attendees will also enjoy FREE coffee, a community BBQ by Norwest Sunrise Rotary Club, basketry and garden workshops, demonstrations, market stalls and more.
Mayor of The Hills Shire, Dr Michelle Byrne, said the Repair Fair is an exciting new initiative for the region and a practical way for residents to rethink 'throwaway' culture by repairing or reusing everyday items to keep them out of landfill.
"This is the first time we're bringing a Repair Fair to The Hills, and it's a fantastic opportunity for residents to give their old or broken items a new lease on life," Mayor Byrne said.
"As well as the repair sessions, demonstrations, stalls and activities for the kids, we're excited to bring back our free Bike Drop Off & Check and Tune alongside the Repair Fair.
"The Repair Fair reflects Council's ongoing commitment to waste reduction and building a circular economy where items are reused and repaired rather than discarded."
