Federation Council is inviting Expressions of Interest (EOI) from mobile food vendors to secure fixed trading locations at two key foreshore sites: Rowers Park in Corowa and Purtle Park in Mulwala. The initiative aims to enhance the appeal of these locations, offer complementary food options, and provide a fantastic boost for local tourism.
The EOI process is competitive, with a selection panel set to assess submissions against both compliance and qualitative criteria, including the proposed product offering and business operation. Only one vendor will be selected to operate at each designated location for a term of up to six months.
Federation Council Mayor, Cr Cheryl Cook highlighted the positive impact this opportunity will have on the community and visitors.
"The activation of our beautiful foreshores at Rowers Park and Purtle Park through this mobile food vendor initiative is a major win for Federation Council," Mayor Cook said.
"This is about injecting vitality into our strategic locations and drawing people to enjoy our stunning waterfronts with an added culinary experience. We are seeking proposals that offer something unique and complementary to our existing local businesses, enhancing the overall tourist and community appeal. This isn't just about food; it's about creating a vibrant atmosphere and supporting the local economy by encouraging visitors to stay and spend in our towns. Successful applicants will be contributing directly to the fantastic tourism benefit of Corowa and Mulwala."
Vendors who are successful will be offered a 12-month licence to operate, contingent on meeting several strict conditions, including holding a minimum $20 million Public Liability Insurance policy and a current Food Business Registration for their specific vehicle.
The submission deadline for the Mobile Food Vendor Licence EOI is Monday, 27th October 2025.
