Council of Europe joins United for Justice conference in Lviv

A Council of Europe delegation took part in the high-level conference "United for Justice", organised by the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine in Lviv, Ukraine from 3-5 March. The conference hosted discussions on the accountability for the Russian Federation's aggression against Ukraine.

In the context of the Council of Europe Action Plan for Ukraine "Resilience, Recovery and Reconstruction" (2023-2026), support is channelled to Ukrainian stakeholders with the focus on the effectiveness of investigation of war-related crimes and gross human rights violations; conflict-related sexual violence, including with the requirements of the recently ratified Istanbul Convention; on assistance to law enforcement, judiciary, and national human rights institutions in addressing the protection of rights of the most vulnerable people impacted by the war, including children.
