Goulburn Mulwaree Council has secured $40,000 in funding under the Transport for NSW 2024/25 Country Passenger Transport Infrastructure Grants Scheme (CPTIGS), delivering long-awaited improvements to two key bus stop locations.
The grant will support upgrades to the Hume Street and Dalley Street bus stops, both of which currently lack adequate facilities. Works will include the installation of new concrete pads, shelters, seating, wheelchair access, and tactiles—making the stops safer and more accessible for school children and local community members.
Mayor of Goulburn Mulwaree, Cr Nina Dillon, welcomed the funding, stating:
"This is a great outcome for our community. These bus stops are well-used and in urgent need of upgrade. With support from the NSW Government, we're making public transport more accessible and safer for everyone, particularly students and people with mobility needs."
While applications for Winfarthing Road and Towrang Road were not successful this round, Council remains committed to seeking future funding opportunities.
Council will co-contribute if costs exceed $20,000 per stop to ensure the works are delivered to a high standard.
