Council welcomes new and returning state government representative

Hobsons Bay City Council congratulates Victorian Labor on winning the 2022 state election and looks forward to working with it to create a greener, healthier and better-connected Hobsons Bay.

Council also congratulates Hobsons Bay's returning MPs, Sarah Connolly (Labor, Laverton) and Melissa Horne (Labor, Williamstown), and newly elected Member for Point Cook, Mathew Hilakari (Labor).

"On behalf of the Hobsons Bay community, I extend my warmest congratulations to our local members for 2022-2026," Mayor of Hobsons Bay, Cr Tony Briffa said.

"I look forward to working with them closely to ensure the voice of our community is heard.

"I am particularly keen to continue discussions on our advocacy priorities, including Labor's funding commitment towards the Western Aquatic and Early Years Centre, and finding a workable solution on the Champion Road level crossing removal.

"I would also like to thank Jill Hennessy, the retiring Member for Altona, for all her hard work and service to our community over the past 12 years."
