Crescent Head shed moving to new home

Kempsey Shire Council

Works for the relocation of the maintenance shed at Crescent Head Holiday Park will begin on Monday 16 October, weather permitting.

We are pleased to advise that work is expected to begin next week to relocate the Crescent Head Maintenance Shed. The work will involve selective tree removal, installation of a new retaining wall and slab and then the relocation and installation of the shed on the new site.

The project will begin with earthworks, a new concrete slab and the construction of the retaining wall at the shed's new location.

Once the preparation of the new site is completed, the shed will have a sub-floor constructed inside, and when it is reinforced, will be moved in one piece by crane. This process will ensure that all warranties of the product and workmanship will remain valid.

We have planned for the new shed to be in place before the Christmas holidays.

Once the shed has been moved to its new location, the existing slab will be made safe, and will become the new location for the large garbage bins that are currently onsite.

Road works providing access to the old slab and the reinstallation of the footpath require further design and investigation, which will be completed in a subsequent stage.

We are aware that this footpath is important to the community and we are focused on reopening this access as soon as possible.

We ask that residents stay well clear of the work site, and do not attempt to access the park through the unplanned dirt trails behind the shed.
