Cricket Victoria has announced the appointment of Shaun Richardson as the organisation's new Chair, with Penelope Cleghorn elected as Deputy Chair.
The Cricket Victoria Board elected Mr Richardson and Ms Cleghorn at last night's September meeting held in Colac.
Mr Richardson succeeds Ross Hepburn, whose six-year tenure as a Director and four years as Chair concluded at Cricket Victoria's Annual General Meeting on August 31. Cricket Victoria recently reinstated the Deputy Chair role in its Constitution after an amendment passed at the most recent AGM.
A Cricket Victoria Director since 2021, Mr Richardson brings extensive experience across business, sport and cricket to the role. He has spent more than two decades working in banking and finance and is currently a Business Banking Executive at NAB.
Mr Richardson's connection to Victorian cricket extends from his First XI playing days with St Kilda and Dandenong Cricket Clubs, through to his long association with the Victorian Sub-District Cricket Association (VSDCA) in various administrative positions at Caulfield Cricket Club.
Mr Richardson said it was an honour to lead the Cricket Victoria Board.
"Cricket has been a significant part of my life, and it is an enormous privilege to be appointed Chair of Cricket Victoria," Mr Richardson said.
"Victorian cricket has strong foundations built by generations of players, volunteers, administrators, clubs and associations who care deeply about the game.
"I want to acknowledge Ross for his leadership and his contribution to Victorian cricket as both a Director and as Chair.
"Our responsibility to ensure the game continues to grow at every level remains. Penelope and I, along with the rest of the Board, will continue to be ambitious and make decisions that strengthen cricket from the grassroots through to the elite."
Cricket Victoria CEO, Nick Cummins, welcomed both appointments.
"Shaun and Penelope have been valuable members of the Cricket Victoria Board since joining in 2021 and 2020 respectively and have a deep understanding of our organisation and the broader Victorian cricket landscape," Cummins said.
"They are taking on these positions at an important time for Cricket Victoria and Australian cricket more broadly. We have a clear strategy and an experienced Board and Executive team, and we are excited about the opportunities ahead."
Mr Richardson and Ms Cleghorn will commence in their positions immediately.
