Crime Series Charges - Fremantle District

Fremantle Detectives have charged a 38-year-old woman with 29 offences relating to burglary, stealing and fraud offences committed across the Fremantle District and other parts of the metropolitan region, including a burglary in Brentwood targeting an 86-year-old woman.
The Brentwood burglary took place sometime between 9:00am and 9:30am on Saturday 27 February 2021 when a woman entered the 86-year-old victim's residence and engaged in conversation with her. It will be alleged while the woman was inside the victim's residence she stole the victim's purse.
The victim's credit card was subsequently used 33 times, including 21 times successfully. The total amount stolen via the use of the credit card is $2,000.
This incident was part of a series of burglary, stealing and fraud offences that occurred between 27 November 2020 and 5 March 2021.
Fremantle Detectives conducted an extensive investigation into the reported offences, and last Thursday, 11 March 2021, they executed a search warrant at a residence in Cranford Avenue, Brentwood, where they arrested a 38-year-old woman.
The 38-year-old Brentwood woman has been charged with:
- 2 x Aggravated Home Burglary and Commit
- 2 x Burglary and Commit
- 6 x Stealing
- 15 x Gains Benefit by Fraud
- 3 x Attempt to Gain Benefit by Fraud
- Steal Motor Vehicle
She was refused bail and appeared in the Fremantle Magistrates Court on Friday 12 March 2021, and she is next due to appear in the same court on Friday 16 April 2021.
