High-speed, enterprise grade broadband services are now available in the Shire of Dandaragan, under the Cook Government's successful Digital Farm Grants Program.

The Dandaragan Fixed Wireless Network project is now complete, providing connectivity to rural businesses and communities across approximately 6,500 square kilometres.

The Cook Government has contributed $500,000 to the project, with infrastructure constructed by Logic IT Solutions and service delivery managed by Southern Cross Broadband.

The project is benefiting farm businesses and residents in and around Badgingarra, Dandaragan, Jurien Bay and Nambung.

Four new fixed wireless towers have been delivered across the Shire of Dandaragan, providing enhanced connectivity through improved radio transmission backhaul links.

Logic IT Solutions will also provide free community Wi-Fi services to the Dandaragan Community Resource Centre and Recreation Centre.

The Digital Farm Grants Program is helping connect businesses and communities in regional Western Australia, by delivering fast, reliable, affordable and scalable broadband where fixed line and fixed wireless NBN services are not available.

As stated by Regional Development Minister Stephen Dawson:

"The Cook Government is supporting our regional communities and businesses through this co-investment which will increase capacity and strengthen resilience in mobile connectivity and broadband internet services.

"This project has delivered an enterprise-grade, high-capacity wholesale and retail broadband service, available to more than 90 per cent of premises in the populated areas of Dandaragan Shire.

"The project has also delivered improved mobile phone coverage and service by providing customers the ability to rebroadcast broadband capacity around properties with Wi-Fi links."

As stated by Wheatbelt Minister Sabine Winton:

"We know reliable telecommunications and connectivity remain critical to economic participation, service access, and social inclusion in our regional communities.

"This new infrastructure will allow innovative Wheatbelt farm businesses to utilise the modern technology needed to remain competitive and agile in global and emerging markets.

"Supported by the Shire of Dandaragan and the Wheatbelt Development Commission, this initiative demonstrates our government's collaborative approach to delivering for regional communities."
