Dangerous Driver Arrested In Northeastern Suburbs

A man has been arrested after dangerous driving and a theft of alcohol from a Modbury bottle-shop.

About 6.30pm on Monday 7 September, police were alerted to a Mitsubishi sedan with no plates and a smashed out rear window, being driven erratically on McIntyre Road.

Police searched the area and received further reports of a theft from a bottle-shop on North East Road. The alleged suspect left before police arrived.

With the assistance of PolAir and Dog Operations the car was tracked through the northeastern suburbs.

The sedan was successfully spiked on Reservoir Road and found abandoned in Glenere Drive.

Police Dog Hank and his handler searched the area and located the suspect nearby.

The 53-year-old Elizabeth North man was arrested and charged with theft, driving disqualified and in a dangerous manner, and providing false details to police. He is expected to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court tomorrow, Tuesday 8 September.
