Death of an inmate from Pacific Institution 19 November

At the time of death, the inmate had been serving a sentence of 7 years and 5 months for various offences, including assault - intentional use of force, escape lawful custody, possess schedule II/VII substance for purpose of trafficking, and robbery-related offences since August 17, 2018.

The inmate's next of kin have been notified.

As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, Correctional Service Canada (CSC) will review the circumstances. CSC policy requires that the police and the coroner be notified.
