Defense Secretary Austin Set for Walter Reed Follow-Up Visit

Pentagon Press Secretary Maj. Gen. Pat Ryder provided the following statement:

Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III will visit Walter Reed National Military Medical Center today for a scheduled appointment as part of his anticipated follow-up care following his recent hospitalization and prostate cancer diagnosis. According to his doctors, Secretary Austin's prostate cancer was treated early and effectively, and his prognosis is excellent. The Secretary continues to recover well and is expected to make a full recovery. We will provide an update later today on his health status following his appointment.
