Delivering For Students In Yarra Ranges

  • Minister for Education

Students at Yarra Ranges Special Developmental School will get the facilities they deserve thanks to a $3.45 million investment to deliver brand new, architecturally designed learning spaces.

Minister for Education James Merlino today visited Yarra Ranges Special Developmental School to announce the investment which will provide new junior school facilities as part of the 2019-20 Victorian Budget. This builds on the $500,000 previously provided to the school by the Andrews Labor Government.

The project at Yarra Ranges Special Developmental School will happen alongside the existing construction of a new administration building to be completed in October.

These new learning spaces will help Yarra Ranges Special Developmental School pursue its vision to promote student independence through active learning.

The $3.45 million for Yarra Ranges Special Development School is part of a record $1.82 billion investment into Victoria's education infrastructure in this year's State Budget - delivering on the Government's promise to make Victoria the Education State.

The Labor Government will open 100 new schools by 2026, ensuring every Victorian child has a great local school with exceptional teachers.

As noted by Minister for Education James Merlino

"We are getting on with delivering great new learning spaces for the students at Yarra Ranges Special Developmental School which will support them to reach their full potential."

"Every student deserves access to modern school facilities and that's what we will deliver for the Yarra Ranges Special Developmental School."
