Deputy Admin Coleman Heads U.S. Team at Sudan Conference in Paris

Deputy Administrator Isobel Coleman participated in the International Humanitarian Conference on Sudan today in Paris, France. U.S. Special Envoy for Sudan Tom Perriello also attended the ministerial event, which marked the one-year anniversary of the devastating war in Sudan. During the conference, the Deputy Administrator announced $100 million in additional humanitarian assistance for the people of Sudan, bringing the total U.S. government humanitarian assistance to the Sudanese people to more than $1 billion since October 2023.

During her trip, the Deputy Administrator also met with other donors, humanitarian organizations, and UN partners to discuss ongoing challenges to delivering humanitarian assistance, including inadequate funding, access issues, and bureaucratic impediments. She reaffirmed during her conversations the U.S. commitment to reaching people in need and supporting our partners, including local Sudanese organizations.
