Deputy Prime Minister to attend G7 Finance Ministers Meeting in Germany

This week, from May 18 to 20, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, the Honourable Chrystia Freeland, will participate in the G7 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meetings in Bonn and Königswinter, Germany.

The Deputy Prime Minister will use the meetings to advance Canada's priorities on key global issues, including tackling inflation; ensuring global food and energy security; fighting climate change; and continuing to support the world's most vulnerable recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, including women and girls.

While in Germany, the Deputy Prime Minister and her G7 counterparts will also discuss further international coordination in response to Russia's illegal invasion of Ukraine, as well as enforcing and levying additional sanctions on Vladimir Putin's enablers.

An itinerary of events will be released in advance of the meetings.
