Digital courses at SUM

The courses are open for UiO students and give credits.

All courses are free and open to all, with the only requirements being a completed bachelor's degree and payment of the annual student fee for the University of Oslo.

Several of the 5 credit courses are extra intensive and will take place over the course of one week, followed by an exam. This is a format which SUM has experience with from its research school.

With the world experiencing an unprecedented crisis we thought it would be an opportune moment to reflect on what is actually working in international development.

We have revised and updated the course What works? Promising Practices in International Development, which is now freely available online to a global audience.
