To support innovation and digital transformation in the Arab region, ESCWA, in collaboration with the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA) and the Government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), organized a workshop on "Digital Regulatory Sandboxes for Cross-border Digital Cooperation".
The workshop, hosted by the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) in Dubai from 2 to 4 February, focused on ways to enable regulatory sandboxes to foster innovation, manage emerging digital risks, and support an effective transition towards digital government.
ESCWA emphasized the importance of regional cooperation, cross-sectoral dialogue, and development-oriented regulatory approaches, in line with the Arab Digital Agenda 2023-2033 and global digital governance frameworks.
