It's time to get serious about making Melbourne the World's Most Liveable City again.
Step 1 – Ditch the mask mandate.
Step 2 – No third jab mandate for pubs and clubs.
Step 3 – Bring public servants back into the city.
It's all well and good to finally have eased density limits and even a new voucher scheme, but when masks are still compulsory in offices and public servants are actually paid a loading to work from home, our city will never recover.
It is fantastic that our international borders are reopening today, it will be a real fillip to our city.
But with visitors only requiring two vaccine jabs, the Andrews Labor Government must also urgently rule out a third jab mandate for pubs, clubs and restaurants.
If not, we will have the absurd situation where double-jabbed tourists can visit our city and state, but can't enjoy our pubs and clubs, or eat in our restaurants.
Only a Liberals and Nationals Government has a clear plan to recover and rebuild.
