Don't Bite, Be Polite - Free Pet Parent Workshops

Darwin City Council

City of Darwin has teamed up with Pawsitive K9 Behaviour to deliver a series of free, human-only workshops designed to make life with your four-legged friends a little easier.

The popular Don't Bite, Be Polite workshops will be held on Tuesday 9 September and Tuesday 11 November. Got a dog that fence rushes, pulls on the leash, or struggles with anxiety or aggression? This session will help you understand their behaviour, boost their wellbeing, and give you handy skills like leash handling and muzzle training.

Over the coming months, additional human-only workshops will be offered, including:

  • Barking Matters: teaching owners about barking behaviours and information on how to prevent and correct the behaviour - Tuesday 14 October 2025

  • Life with Dogs: helping owners get prepared for having a new pet at home and understanding what living with and caring for a dog involves - Tuesday 9 December 2025

These workshops support pet owners in building positive relationships with their dogs while helping keep our community safe.
