Have your say on Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council's Draft Aquatics Strategic Plan 2022-2032 before 6 July.

'There are two weeks left for people to have their say on our Draft Aquatics Strategic Plan and we want to know what the community expects from our pools,' said Mayor Kenrick Winchester.

'This strategy looks at the current status of pools in Queanbeyan-Palerang and the urgent, important and desirable options for the facilities over the next 10 years.

'All our pools contribute to the health, wellbeing, and recreational needs of our community.

'Whether they're used for summer fun, swimming carnivals, daily exercise, or learn to swim lessons, our pools, programs and services offer something for everyone.

'Our pools have played an important role in our community for a long time, and they are coming to the stage in their life cycles where they need replacement or major renewal.

'The draft strategy outlines long-term objectives and provides a clear direction for the detailed action plans to follow.

'While funding the maintenance and upgrade of current facilities will continue to be a major focus, the strategy also outlines proposed new pools for Bungendore, Googong and Jerrabomberra.

'To make sure our pools continue to meet the needs of our growing population, it's important we hear from the community about what they expect from our aquatics facilities in the future.'

The draft strategy is on exhibition at yourvoice.qprc.nsw.gov.au/draft-aquatics-strategic-plan until 6 July 2023.
