A driver has been charged after a two-vehicle crash in the state's south.
Just after 11.50am on Monday 30 March 2026, emergency services were called to Numeralla Road, Middle Flat, about 9km east of Cooma, following reports of a two-vehicle collision.
On arrival, officers attached to Monaro Police District found an Isuzu ute and a Toyota ute had collided head-on.
Fire and Rescue NSW and SES attended the scene, before retrieving both drivers, along with a 2-year-old passenger,from the vehicles.
The driver of the Isuzu Ute – a 26-year-old woman – was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being airlifted to hospital in a serious but stable condition.
The baby was treated with minor injuries before being airlifted to the same hospital with the woman.
The other driver – a 51-year-old man – was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to the same hospital in a serious, but stable condition.
A crime scene was established and investigations by from Crash Investigation Unit commenced.
Following extensive inquiries, yesterday (Wednesday 12 August 2026), a 51-year-old driver was issued a Court Attendance Notice charged with dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm - drive manner dangerous, negligent driving (occasions grievous bodily harm), and not keep left of dividing line-not class B/C vehicle.
He is due to appear before Cooma Local Court on Wednesday 21 October 2026.
