A man will face court next month charged with high-range PCA after a crash near Cessnock last night.
About 8.35pm (Sunday 5 July 2026), police were called to a property on Baileys Lane, Abermain, following reports of a crash.
At the scene, police were told a grey utility had driven through a wire fence and crashed through a timber shed before coming to a stop against a second wire fence.
Police attended and spoke with the alleged driver who did not report any injuries to police.
The 35-year-old man underwent a roadside breath test which returned a positive result.
He was arrested and taken to Cessnock Police Station where he underwent a breath analysis that returned an alleged reading of 0.256.
The man was issued a court attendance notice for drive with high-range PCA, and is due to appear before Cessnock Local Court on Tuesday 4 August 2026.
The man's licence was also suspended.
