A man has been charged with multiple offences including dangerous driving and attempted armed robbery following incidents across the South Brisbane District last night, 19 December.
It will be alleged around 9.30pm, Polair alerted officers to a silver BMW 318i driving dangerously around Kessels Road, Nathan.
Polair continued to track the vehicle around the Sunnybank and Sunnybank Hills areas, with officers successfully deploying a tyre deflation device in Robertson at 10.57pm.
The vehicle came to a stop a short time later in a shopping centre carpark on Mains Road, Sunnybank.
It is alleged the driver and sole occupant, a 28-year-old man from New South Wales, then fled the vehicle on foot while armed with a knife.
Police will further allege the man then entered a vehicle, an Audi A3, located nearby, threatening a man and a woman inside in an attempt to steal their vehicle.
The male and female occupants of the Audi were physically uninjured.
Officers arrived at the scene a short time later where they located the man inside the Audi.
It is alleged the man presented a knife resulting in firearm and taser presentation by officers.
After being disarmed by police, the man allegedly violently resisted arrest.
No serious injuries were reported, and the man was taken into custody.
Police charged the man with eight offences, including one count each of dangerous operation of a vehicle, unlawful entry of vehicle for committing indictable offence at night whilst armed, robbery armed, serious assault police officer causing bodily harm whilst armed with a weapon, serious assault police officer whilst armed with a weapon, possessing dangerous drugs, possessing counterfeit money and fail to provide specimen of breath for analysis (B.A.S) or blood for test on requirement.
He was remanded in custody and is due to reappear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on 27 January.
