Three people have been arrested after a drug lab was discovered following a Salisbury East house fire overnight.
At about 2.30am Tuesday 2 December, police and fire crews responded to a home on Hazel Road following reports of a fire.
On arrival, fire fighters extinguished a small fire which caused minor damage to the kitchen of the address. Three occupants evacuated during the incident, including a 53-year-old man who was taken hospital with non-life-threatening burns to his legs.
While police were at the scene investigating, it will be alleged they uncovered evidence consistent with drug manufacturing, locating chemicals and equipment in the kitchen.
A 25-year-old man, 62-year-old woman and the 53-year-old injured man were arrested and are expected to be charged with manufacturing a controlled drug later this morning. The woman will be further charged with trafficking a controlled drug after she was searched and allegedly found to be in possession of approximately 30 grams of methamphetamine.
Northern district detectives and investigators from Drug and Organised Crime Task Force are at the address processing the scene.
