Drugs, firearm seized after vehicle stop at Moree

A man has been charged after drugs and a firearm were located during a vehicle search in the state's Northern Tablelands.

About 11.30pm Saturday (14 March 2020), officers stopped a silver Volkswagon on the Newell Highway, Moree, and conducted a random breath test.

Officers attached to New England Police District searched the vehicle, seizing testosterone and a gel blaster pistol.

The 31-year-old man was taken to Moree Police Station, where he was charged with possess unregistered firearm-pistol, possess unauthorised pistol, supply prohibited drug and possess prohibited drug.

The man was granted conditional bail and will appear at Moree Local Court today (16 March 2020).
