Drugs, Weapons and Fireworks Seized - Katherine

Detectives from the Central Substance Abuse Intelligence Desk and Central Investigation Section have arrested several people and issued a number of infringement notices after the execution of search warrants at four properties in Katherine.

The search warrants were executed yesterday morning, Northern Territory Police say

During the searches police located:

  • A traffickable quantity of LSD
  • A less than traffickable quantity of methamphetamine
  • A less than traffickable quantity of cannabis
  • Drug paraphernalia
  • A quantity of fireworks
  • Numerous prohibited weapons

Police interviewed seven people as part of their investigations. Four people, including a teenager, were arrested for drug driving offences after returning a positive test results.

As a result of police investigations a number of people are due to appear in court at a later date.

A 41-year-old man has been charged and released on bail for:

  • Possess Schedule 1 Dangerous Drug – Traffickable (LSD)
  • Possess Schedule 1 Dangerous Drug (methamphetamine)
  • Possess Schedule 2 Dangerous Drug (cannabis)
  • Possess Drug Implement
  • Possess Fireworks

A 40-year-old man charged and released on bail for:

  • Driving while unlicensed
  • Driving with prohibited drug in body

A 34-year-old man has been issued infringement notices for:

  • Possess Cannabis
  • Possess Fireworks

A 23-year-old man and a 19-year-old women were issued with traffic and drug infringement notices.

A 22-year-old man was issued a notice to appear in the Katherine Local Court for:
