DTU is now ranked 110th in the world in the prestigious Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2026. This is 11 places higher than last year and DTU's best ranking since the list was first published in 2010.
DTU is also moving up the rankings in Europe and the Nordic region. The university has risen from 47th place last year to 39th this year in Europe, and from eighth to sixth in the Nordic region. Among Danish universities, DTU remains in third place behind the University of Copenhagen and Aarhus University.
A total of 2.297 universities feature in this year's rankings, compared with 2.191 last year.
The ranking is compiled by the Times Higher Education, which assesses universities based on a range of indicators. This year, DTU has improved its performance in the indicators relating to education/teaching and the research environment.
"This is a strong recognition of the quality of our research and education. In our new strategy, we have a clear ambition for DTU to be among Europe's leading technical universities, and this ranking shows that we are moving in that direction. Of course, the ambition is about more than just rankings. It is about the quality of our research, education, innovation and the value we create for society," says President at DTU, Anders Bjarklev.
