Nominations for Dubbo Regional Council's Dubbo Day Awards for 2026 are now open. Dubbo Day Awards recognise the amazing volunteers in the community.
Dubbo Regional Council Mayor Josh Black said community members are encouraged to nominate someone who makes a valuable contribution to Dubbo. This could be a fellow volunteer or someone you see going above and beyond in our community.
"The 2021 Census shows that 16 per cent of residents in Dubbo volunteer, which is slightly higher than the 13 per cent of people in NSW who volunteer."
"With so many people in our community volunteering their time in so many ways, there are sure to be lots of worthy nominees. We always look forward to reading all the nominations and hearing about the amazing work these people do for our community," Clr Black said.
The Dubbo Day Awards are held to mark the anniversary of Dubbo's gazettal as a village on 23 November 1849.
"Volunteers are important to our community and each year we recognise the significant contribution they make within sporting groups, cultural organisations, or the arts community."
"These people provide their time and skills freely to benefit our local community and enrich the lives of others."
"We really encourage people to look at the organisations and groups they belong to and nominate someone who makes a difference," Clr Black said.
Nominations will close on Monday 2 November 2026.
Award recipients are selected from the nominees by a committee of community members which include past winners.
This year the Dubbo Day Awards Ceremony will be held on Thursday 19 November at 5:30pm at the Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre.
